You've heard, I'm sure, about the two Martians who went into a bar, saw a jukebox flashing and glittering, and said to it, 'What's a nice girl like you doing in a joint like this?' Well, here's one about two Capellans and a slot-machine.... .

Yes, that is the basic story . . . Sartan and Toryl, from planet Capella, walking into Okie’s Oasis bar in the small, “the doggondest, cheeriest little town in America” – Jubilation, U.S.A. The joint is crowded. The one-armed bandits are clinking and spinning. And the two alien visitors slowly become involved in sipping on a cold one, interacting with the patrons, and playing the slots. . . .There is a measure of satire in this short story as two alien brothers try to make sense of a small town that promises to the friendliest town in the world, only to find themselves confused by their slot machines and chased out of town as insane and destructive.
