Unabridged Audiobook
This book is late in PGW’s output, but maintains a higher level of Plummy excellence than some others from that era. The last couple of scenes gallop very satisfyingly to the end. I’m a Jonathan Cecil mega-fan, and IMO other Wodehouse narrators range from terrible through mis-cast to good-but-not-Cecil. I put J. Sinden in the latter group, particularly once I’d bumped up the speed a notch. Suddenly there was more sparkle, and somehow more pitch variety—perhaps that was an auditory illusion, but I’ll now try other Sinden products at 1.2 speed!
