Unabridged Audiobook
this is a mostly uneventful story, bleak but beautiful, dispassionate in tone but often broken up with reverent descriptions of the natural world teeming around our narrator.we follow the routine of the gamekeeper's work across the year. the rearing of fuzzy young pheasants, the discriminate killing of enemies of game, the ceaseless toil and the brutality of the shoot is all served with an unrelenting undertone of class commentary. loved it.
