The Gargoyle and the Songbird by Cora Crane Elderberry Falls book 2 Thank you to Tantor Media and Cora for this review copy! Dual narration by Rose Dioro and Jack Calihan Rose and Jack continue to do a fantastic job with this series. They bring so much emotion to these characters and keep me drawn in! Cozy monster romance Dual POV, bodyguard romance, forced proximity, siren pop star x body guard gargoyle, vicious glow kitty, grumpy x sunshine, cozy magical hometown, one room/(vibrating) bed, consent king, no miscommunication trope, family expectations Ecco is quickly rising to fame as a siren pop star and when she is threatened her manager hires her a bodyguard. While she doesn't want the brooding gargoyle being her shadow, she is overruled. Graeme's family is pressuring him to return home and take his place in the community, but he isn't quite ready so he is given this last bodyguard assignment. Ecco's best friend is getting married, so, against Graeme's recommendation, they head to Ecco's cozy hometown. But once there, a witch's magic is backfiring and causing a magical blizzard so they can't leave. Turns out, Ecco's stalker followed them here. Graeme wants to keep her locked in her room, but Ecco refuses to not make the best of this time she has here. Can Graeme keep her safe as they both deal with their feelings that are growing towards each other? This was another super cute book in this series! We get to return to Elderberry Falls and see some familiar faces as we get to know Graeme and some other new ones! Ecco's positive outlook makes me smile and I enjoyed Graeme slowly softening toward her even as he struggled with his family's expectations. I also loved how Ecco called him out on some of his learned behaviors that made him reconsider beliefs he had held all his life. I am looking forward to more books in this series!
