Unabridged Audiobook
Great book to start off the month of October with. I didn't expect to be so fixed on this book. I didn't want to stop reading it and the whole time your mind is turning trying to figure out what's really happening.
TRIGGER WARNING for those who are recovering/dealing with trauma.i cannot finish the book.... it's not because it's bad...I cannot finish it because it is so intricate in detail about drug use that it leaves my mind unsettled for days... it's very well written, but I genuinely cannot continue it.also very annoying when the protagonist repeats her lovers name every 5 seconds. reminds me of a woman who grows older, but clings to her teenage years, and acts like it.
Great concept. Some parts didn’t really add up regarding how everything worked. The ghost descriptions are pretty good. Narrator is okay. Should come with a trigger warning with the portrayal of Addiction
The story fell apart a bit near the end. Kind of lost me.
starts off promising, then spins out about 3/4 through in an endless monologue about addiction. DNF.
This book was very good! An interesting idea that doesn't come along in books, which was a pro. If you have ever lost someone, you would understand. Some parts are very sad, so be warned. The narrator was also good.
I'll start with the good stuffI liked the parts with the actual ghosts, they were fun, however....The characters, particularly the main are severely stupid and unlikeable. I understand that in horror stories, people need to be dumb and make ridiculous decisions but COME ON! I was actively rooting for them all to die at one point. Maybe I'm just an unsympathetic person.I also found the story dragged and was quite boring. Sadly my free trial ran out before I could finish it, and I resent that in the end I had to pay for it.
The first four hours are a bit slow.
what a creative and haunting story about loss and drug abuse. if I had been reading this myself, it would have been a page turner!
Well written, well narrated book that I just couldn't really connect with. Probably captures the pain and madness of addiction and recovery better than anything else I've read in the past few years.
Solid horror with addiction theme and Southern Gothic elements. Good audio narrator.
I thought it was a really good listen. A unique dabble into a well written about subject. Enough for me to stay hooked until the end. Was it real or just in the mind?
