The Ghost of the Everliving Tree: A Gothic Redwood Ghost Story of Lost Love, Buried History, and the Forest That Remembers

Ben Platt is running from disgrace when a deer, a storm, and a forgotten logging road leave him injured in the redwood country of Northern California. Rescued and carried to the Dryad, an old bed-and-breakfast in the ghost logging town of Red Gap, he expects only a painful recovery and an expensive apology for a wrecked car.

But the Dryad has its own history. More than a century earlier, Daphne Lindstrom vanished into the forest, leaving behind only her hat, her gathering basket, and a mystery that never stopped haunting the town. When Ben begins to see a woman in white near the trees and hear a voice calling for help, he is forced to question whether his concussion is playing tricks on him—or whether Daphne is reaching through time.

The deeper Ben looks, the more Red Gap’s past comes alive: the lost redwood grove, the tree called Grand Daddy, an old marriage shadowed by obsession, and a secret rooted in love, grief, and betrayal. To uncover the truth, Ben must follow the ghost story into the heart of the forest, where the living and the dead are bound together by something older than memory.

The Ghost of the Everliving Tree is an atmospheric ghost mystery about redwoods, vanished lives, inherited sorrow, and the strange courage it takes to answer a call from the past.
