I enjoy M L Bullocks books. This series has different characters to the Dead House series, but they are still engaging.

This audiobook had me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter to the last. The story follows the Gulf Coast Paranormal team as they investigate the eerie happenings on Kali Oka Road, but what starts as a typical ghost hunt quickly turns into something far more terrifying. The team—Midas, Sierra, Sara, Josh, and Peter—are seasoned paranormal investigators, but they meet their match when they encounter Cassidy, a young artist with a mysterious gift. As they dig deeper into the haunted Oak Grove Plantation, the suspense builds and it becomes clear that they’re dealing with a malevolent force far darker than anything they’ve faced before. The character development is stellar, particularly the interactions between the team members and Cassidy. I loved how the investigation slowly uncovered layers of mystery, and the growing tension kept me hooked. The pacing was perfect, and the moments of terror were balanced beautifully with the team’s camaraderie and their drive to solve the mystery. The setting of the Oak Grove Plantation is wonderfully atmospheric and adds to the eerie mood. The descriptions of the location and the paranormal activity were so vivid that I felt like I was right there with them—feeling the chill of the abandoned plantation, hearing the whispers of the restless spirits, and sharing in the characters' fear and determination. What stood out most to me was how the story took unexpected turns, making it clear that there’s more to this case than meets the eye. And the conclusion... wow, what a payoff. It left me thinking long after I finished. As for the narration, the voice acting was top-notch. The narrator really brought the story to life, and the characters' emotions felt so authentic. It added a whole new layer to the experience. If you’re a fan of supernatural thrillers with strong characters, a gripping plot, and plenty of suspense, The Ghosts of Kali Oka Road is a must-listen. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves a good ghost story with a twist!
