Summary:

Bestselling author of Return to Love and Law of Divine Compensation, Marianne Williamson shows people how to live without fear or worry in The Gift of Change. The time in which we now live is more difficult and stressful than people are willing to admit. We live with an abiding sense of collective anxiety. Williamson shows how we are paralyzed in our current state of fear and anger because we are not facing and dealing with the true causes of our anxieties and fears. Williamson reveals that fear and worry do not need to be the only tools in our tool box for dealing with problems in the world. As we learn to trust God and the love that surrounds us and guides us, we will see that what causes us pain is an opportunity for growth, healing, and miracles that can transform us and our world. Williamson delivers hope and healing as she illuminates ten basic changes that each of us can make as we learn to view the world through the eyes of love instead of fear.

While the message in this book is great, awesome, fantastic, I get a bit confused by her religious beliefs. I'm not really sure what she believes. On one hand she talks about breaking free from religious trappings, yet, she throws in biblical quotes and says things that sound very religious quite often.. This is the 2nd book of hers I've listened to and I felt the same way after listening to both.. It's almost like she's lulling you in, thinking she's a very new age spiritualist who doesn't believe in the trappings of traditional religions, but then she says things that make you think she is a very traditional religious person at times, which for me, just doesnt mesh with the new spiritual awareness of our world.. Maybe it's just me, but she seems a bit confusing to me on that subject.

Marianne points out some uncomfortable truths about how we, as spiritual students, fail to live up to our responsibility to change ourselvee. And as usual, she also gives us the hope that God is in charge as always, and if we will integrate the prinicipals laid out in A Course in Miracles, attempting to align ourselves with Him, we have a much better chance of changing ourselves, which gives the world a better chance of changing for the good.

I enjoyed getting a renewed version of Return to Love. Our world has changed and so have we. I recommend it!
