The back story was super interesting but the modern day piece was SO predictable! So disappointed.

I assumed the story was based on true events (which it is roughly) though I was extremely disappointed once I discovered that some very harsh details that really upset me were actually made up. The past characters have extremely sad life stories so if you feel like crying - read this book! And the present day story isn’t very realistic…

in just couldn't get into it, but i did enjoy some parts of the story line.

Wonderful book so much unknown history to me at least about the Asian immigrants. Interesting informative culture artistry , Beliefs would definitely recommend this book

I loved this book. It was suspenseful, informative about the time period, and very moving. It held my attention from beginning to end!

Honestly I could not finish this book. It was just too cheesy for me. So many things about the story line and the interactions between the characters made me roll my eyes so many times I finally just gave up.

This is one of my favorite books. My kids and my husband even got into listening to it. I love it
