Unabridged Audiobook
This story was every bit the sequel to The Greatest Game Ever Played as the story of Bobby Jones was to Francis Ouimet. I enjoy how the author weaved a story about the times an circumstances in and around the Grand Slam. The author reminds the reader of the odds of being struck by a bolt of lightning, and this is what Bobby Jones' Grand Slam was. Everything from the Great Depression, to the ever-changing field of golf, to professional athletes and being struck being two World Wars all culminated in an event of celebrity and triumph that could never be duplicated today. If you enjoy sports, a tale of heroes and struggles, of insurmountable odds, and of struggle of self discovery, I KNOW this book will do something for you.
