Summary
The Great Brain is Tom D. Fitzgerald, aged ten. The story is told by J.D., a sometimes confounded but always admiring younger brother. Such people as Mr. Standish, the mean schoolmaster, regret the day they came up against The Great Brain. But others, like the Jensen kids lost in Skeleton Cave, Basil, the Greek kid, or Andy, who has lost his leg and his friends, know that Tom's great brain never fails to find a way home.

Is it possible for an audio book to transform your family? Id venture to say this one did. On a whim I hurried and downloaded this book just before getting into our van for a road trip to Yellowstone with our little family of 6. I remember reading it as a kid and loving it. So I was hopeful this would keep my kids engaged, getting along, and give us something to laugh about on the journey. Instantly the book was a hit. Time flew and the kids were antsy to get back in the van on every time we stopped. We flew through the first book and downloaded the second. Our kids were so bummed the third book wasn't available. We still jokingly refer to stories and phrases in the book and we fondly look back on that road trip. The narrator is phenomenal and really makes this audio performance a hit. Please please please record the other books!!! We feel like we can't go on a road trip until you do!
