Summary
This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

The Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in the Jazz Age on Long Island, near New York City, the novel depicts first-person narrator Nick Carraway's interactions with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Gatsby's obsession to reunite with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan.

Jay Gatsby is a millionaire who throws extravagant parties that attract famous celebrities, but no one really knows him - no one except for his neighbor, Nick Carraway. The novel was inspired by a youthful romance Fitzgerald had with socialite Ginevra King, and the riotous parties he attended on Long Island's North Shore in 1922.

The narrator, while I loved his British accent, sounds mad the whole time.

I liked the use of the UK accent narrator for this novel. I didn’t even know it was a digital voice until I came to write this review. Of course, it’s sad it’s not a real human being doing the narration. The UK accent gives the narration an elitist quality, which is the New England upper class environment of the novel. The accents of the upper class in that region of the country, real or feigned, tend to have an echo of the upper class British accents. The pensive tone and delivery of the narrator also reflects the voyeuristic point of view of the first person narrative of the novel. One of the greatest American novels. Some of the sentences and reflections are amazing literary gems.

I liked the book and the narrator is really good. Sometimes he says words in a very english and makes it a fun read. The book is less detailed then I imaged but still very good.

It was okay. Very confusing at times. The narration didn’t do it any good.
