Summary
Roger Mifflin is the somewhat eccentric proprietor of The Haunted Bookshop, a second-hand bookstore in Brooklyn that is "haunted by the ghosts of all great literature." Beginning with the arrival of a young advertising man and the mysterious disappearance of a certain volume from the shelves of the bookshop, a lively and often humorous tale of intrigue unfolds, generously sprinkled with liberal doses of Roger's unique philosophy on literature and book selling. Quirky little book. I almost gave up as it didn't seem to be going anywhere. Figured out where it was going and an glad. I stuck with it.

Story was good, if a bit wordy in places. I think it would have been more enjoyable if the narrator simply read the story without the individual character voice embellishments.

I really enjoyed it. The author made it clear pretty early that ghosts were not the haunters of the bookshop and this was repeated, so definitely did not find the title misleading. The sense of humor in the book was particularly endearing to me.

I think the author quoted way to may oter authors. He let them write the book. Almost gave up on it.
