Detective Michael Bennett and his family are about to be haunted...

by a father's worst nightmare--the signs he should have seen and a son's desperate cry for help. Reeling from a crisis that would destroy lesser families, the Bennetts escape New York for a much-needed vacation.

An idyllic country town in the Maine woods is haunted...

by an epidemic emptying its streets and preying on its youth. Turns out the vacation brochures don't tell the full story-the seemingly perfect community has a deadly vice. When local cops uncover a grisly crime scene buried deep in the woods, they consult the vacationing Bennett, who jumps at the chance to atone for his own sins. You can take Michael Bennett out of New York City, but you can't take the cop out of Michael Bennett. But far from the city streets he knows so well, no one will talk to the big-city detective, and the bodies keep piling up.

A young, hardscrabble, and forgotten girl is haunted...

by a traumatic history. Homeless and destitute, she represents the closest thing Bennett has to a partner in his frantic hunt for the ghostlike perpetrator behind the violence. Will Bennett and his unlikely ally unmask the culprit before anyone else winds up haunted?

The book fell short in fully developing a plot and seeing it through to a conclusion. I can’t recommend it because it really missed the mark as a James Patterson book.

I really like the Bennett series. Read all the rest. First listen and I thought Mike sounded wimpy, not how I imagined. Loved the Irish accents though.

V Brannon I love the Bennett's they are a loving family it makes you want to be a part of their family. The action in this book was riveting and it kept me wanting more.

Not much of a plot, boring characters and bad flow on the story. The narrator was very hard to follow because of the monotonous tone he used.

  • Marylin P

The narrator was excellent. His inflections were just right. The book was good because of Michael Bennett and his family. It was not a thriller like most James Patterson books, but I liked it. I hope to see more of Mike Bennett and his family in the future. Need to know how hos son, Brian does.

I thought by the title and it was James Patterson the book Haunted it was a thriller, but it was not. Micheal Bennett and family are great. I was disappointed that this book was so set in Michael B's family there was not much over guessing twists, plot or anything, Good Michael B book but, not much of a thriller.....:=
