Unabridged Audiobook
I read Hawai’i decades ago when I was in high school. I revisited after a recent vacation in Hawaii. It is a very thorough fictionalized history of the islands. Michener breaks the novel into parts, introducing each of the cultures that shaped and continue to define the islands. This becomes a generational saga that allows the reader to follow and link the history and cultures through the families and their interactions. While I recommend the book-it does take time and stamina to complete.
Monumental. Loved it
Great book.
Interesting book. I'm reading it (physical) as well as listening when I drive. The narrator sounds mechanical, monotone and like a computer. At first I wasn't sure if it was a computer reading. No voice or performance. I've listened to several different books and have heard several performances that impressed me. This is not one of them.
Interesting and (as historical fiction) contained enough real information to be useful.
Very long but never got bored or lost in the story.. I would recommend to any one
