Such a great story. While the over arching story is very sad, I still found myself laughing out loud a fair amount. I really enjoyed Cyril and his life story.

This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long long time and the narrator is perfect.

Highly recommend! It was such a smart, beautifully written story! Even though it was quite long, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The narrator absolutely brought it to life. Best narrator yet! I will definitely look for more books he narrates.

Although the author clearly has a gift for writing, I wish I’d done my research before listening to the first third of this crude book. That was more than enough for me. Disgusting. It’s a shame that vulgar, profane books like this pass for highly praised literature these days.

Quite different compared to most of Boyne’s work and at about 24hrs it’s very long. Yet it’s not tedious or boring at all. Character development, artistry, genuine. I recommend it to anyone that loses

What a great interesting book

Loved it!!

A beautiful story with characters I grew to love. I listened to this book well over a year ago and still smile at the memory of these people and the events of their lives. Sometimes funny, sometimes not, I appreciated how the author takes care of the reader during the tragic moments of a life fully lived rather than devastating you along with the character. The ending left me satisfied.
