By far one of my favorite books! The story...the narration...really, you have to check it out.

Excellent novel! Witty and well-written.

I wasn’t quite sure about the narrator in the beginning, but he really grew on me. I really enjoyed the story somehow being a slow burn with them having sex less than 10 minutes into the book.

I finished watched Heated Rivalry on tv, Nov 28. I watched the episodes like 9 times now. When I tell you Hudson and Connor did an amazing job acting, I'm sat. I was intrigued all the book fans said it was a great representation that I bought the book so fast. This is my first audiobook purchase and baby it did not disappoint. 10/10 I'm tempted to read The Long Game next. Thank Rachel, Thank Jacob, Thank Tor, Thank Shane/Ilya. I'm obsessed.

I absolutely love anything that is narrated by tor thom and this book was absolutely amazing I have never been a very big fan of books in the third person but the more I got into the book the more I honestly forgot I can't wait to listen to this entire series

Really fun, easy read! Compelling characters and story, kept me hooked the whole way through. Author did a great job creating realistic tension and challenges and impressed with the resolution. Also deliciously spicy. Narrator was great and I’m pretty sure the phrase “Fuuaaaaack, Hollander” in that accent is going to live in my brain forever.

Love this story!!!! By the end, it’s a love story and you don’t really think about gender, you are just rooting for the couple!!! Big HUGE fan of the streaming series - obsessed!! Embarrassingly large number of times I have rewatched it. It made me want to read the books. It was interesting to hear the differences from the show. Now I just envision the actors in my mind during the reading of the story. Highly recommend it!

I loved it! I read the book because of the series, and I can say it’s one of my favorites. I really enjoyed getting deeper insight into how the characters feel and what they think. The development of the story—and especially Shane and Ilya’s growth, both individually and in their relationship—is absolutely beautiful. Their love is full of growth and mutual respect. I truly loved it and even cried at some moments.

I listened to this after having watched the TV show and it is not nearly as good, though it does get better toward the end. The characters as written just don’t have the emotional depth that they do in the show, especially Shane. His reaction to Ilya pouring his heart out to him in Russian after his father’s death is to be aroused by his voice? Really? I’m glad the director and actor chose to take that one in a different direction. I’m also not crazy about the narrator. His Russian accent is terrible, he somehow makes Shane’s parents sound Southern (as in the US South) even though they’re supposed to be Canadian, and he voices every female character in this weird kitten purr. Overall, pretty disappointing.

Great book, the narrator was good with his deep ilia voice. Story held my attention.

The writing is simplistic and The characters are one dimensional. The author doesn't go deeper into the souls of the characters and doesn't provide much details about how their inability to be with each other affects their wellbeing and every day life. The first half of the book is about them wanting to sleep with each other and that's it. The second half of the book becomes more interesting as we learn a little bit more about one of the characters. Also, based on the writing style and how the story was going I wasnt expecting a plot twist and predicted the end. Overall it's an easy read but very simple and one dimensional. The narrator didn't do a good job with the female voices.

I grabbed this to see what all the hype on the show was about. I absolutely cannot diss this book or narrator. The voices were spot on including a few challenging accents, the pacing was easy to listen to. Be aware it's quite spicy!
