Unabridged Audiobook
This was my first novel by Sarah Ladd and it didn't disappoint. I would describe this as closed door romance/historical fiction/faith based redemptive theme. This story grabbed my attention right off the bat. This is the first in a series and is suspenseful you don't want to put it down. I've read all 3 books in this series, each story is unique. I've read many regency era themed books and this one didn't follow your typical story line with a predictable outcome. I highly recommend this book. I plan to add many of Sarah's books to my wish list. The only thing I wish is for more of the story, you don't want it to end. This story doesn't continue in the 2nd book, which was a disappointment.
Very much enjoyed this story!! Especially, when the characters heard that “still small voice” and like many of us, struggle to listening to that voice. And when scriptures the characters read gives them encouragement.
This was a little too preachy for me. I was looking for a clean romance but wasn't really wanting all the prayers to God within the story. The narrator was very flat and their were no changes in tone for each character. The story was decent.
I liked the story but I'm afraid I thought it dragged and the narration was too slow as well
This is a great book. I could not put it down. The narration is done well.
