Hel's Handmaid

A Scandinavian princess broken by a cursed legacy is forced to rely on the sword that has shaped—and doomed—her bloodline. This blade has already cost me more than I can bear to speak of.

I can’t even bring myself to draw it—not again.

Now I’m a prisoner in the camp of General Sarus, a commander as cunning as he is ruthless. To him, I’m no princess, no shieldmaiden of renown—only a savage to be broken.

But the truth is, with the kind of people that are after me, I’m desperate for his protection—until we start marching north to contend with the Germanic Coalition.

Because if we meet who I fear we will, Sarus can’t help me.

The only thing that might keep me alive … is Tyrfing—the sword that’s destroyed my family for generations.

I only wonder what it will take from me this time.
