Unabridged Audiobook
Yes it's a little repetitive but some of us need to be told a few times to really "get it" I guess. Separated from my husband 2 months ago,, and I feel a lot better after having finished the book Probably the best I've felt in a while. When my old habits flare up, I remember what the book said and I calm myself down.
Awesome book, so much better than his first! I recommend this book and his wife has a great warm reading voice too :)
Extremely uninsightful and repetitious. The obvious was being beaten into your head. It was redundant and seemed to run out of gas before making it around the corner. Attempted to disguise the same message as new and enlightening information. The same point was made over and over and over and over again. If you liked this review. You may enjoy the book.
The first third of the book is fantastic. The rest is written as questions and answers, so gets a little mundane. All in all it's worth taking a listen there is a ton of true and relateable info. Very humorous tone too.
I was recommended this book by a few girl friends, and so was looking forward to the insight into my relationships that it would offer. After the first chapter I could pretty much predict the rest, and didn't need to complete the audiobook (although I did). The advice is commonsense, and not particularly liberating or earth shattering if you don't already think of yourself as irresistible to everyone you meet. It's more of a reinforcement than a revelation.
I just was curious to see what advice was in this book. It sounded good but actually the advice is great. It helped me to understand some of the guys I dated that were a little weird. But the authors are right, when a man loves you he goes out of his way to see you, make you happy, cares for your well being, and finds ways to enrich your life which is the exact description of my husband of four years. Of all the guys I dated he is the only one who didn't have mental baggage or a big lack of maturity or some other problem. So dreams do come true as long as your patient and keep plugging. After all, I bagged my guitar player!!
Where was this book when I was sixteen and beginning to date. Heck where was this book when I met my first husband. Talk about wasting my pretty. I begged, chased, cajoled, and finally won the big prize. The booby prize that is. I am thinking about buying a copy for each of my nieces as they head off for college. I wish I'd had a friend at the factory like this guy.
Really redundant. Very plain. Not interesting. Not enlightening. Would not recommend. Worthless.
While a few of the examples were a bit much, it's heart was in the right place. Entertaining and could be a light bulb moment for a few women I know.
The format of the delivery was confusing to listen to at first, but once I understand what's going on, then I enjoyed listening to it. It's funny and clever. I actually have a copy of the CD and am now lending it to my single sister =)
While somewhat entertaining, it was quite repetitive and could have been half as long. I could relate a few examples to friends' experiences.
I can handle some "chick lit" but this was absolutely awful. I never read the book and definitely won't (by choice). Sent it back as quickly as I possibly could.
So true, funny, a crass, and very helpful! I highly recommend it to any single American gal. It will save you time and energy and pain as you date.
Every woman in a dating situation should read this book. It is a bit repetitive and a bit long but it drills into your head that you don't need to be treated like crap and you ARE worth a decent relationship! Some of us need more reminding than others......
Blah. There's really not much else to say. This is just another version of every other "dating" book for women--it pretends to be empowering but is acutally condescending (" . . .since you're too STUPID to know how to interact with men yourself . . ."). Maybe READING it would prove to be more interesting, but the format of the book did not lend itself well to audio. I'm generally a patient and open-minded reader, but I couldn't even give this one an hour before I had to turn it off.
First off - I expected a novel. However, since I did not fully read the description, that could just be my fault for not realizing it was more of a self-help book. Personally I found this book to be repetitive and while slightly humorous at times, it was fairly boring. I also think some of the advice was common sense, but since I am obviously not the target market for this particular book, maybe somewhere, someone learned a lot from it. I was not impressed.
Very funny and entertaining, but a little drawn out.
Whether you are in a relationship or just need a little advice--LISTEN TO THIS BOOK! It's read by the authors and is very entertaining and humorous!
The information was good, but I expected a novel...It was formatted more like letters sent to a radio talk show. Also I agree that some of the language was unnecessary.
This audiobook was not only entertaining, it was very informative. The style and and approach was complementary and practical. I found so many "take aways" as I was listening, that I realized that there are a lot of jerks that I have let hurt me needlessly. When I realized that he/they were "not that into" me, I actually felt liberated. This should be our declaration for the millenium, ladies!
I like the idea of education women who are clueless. I was slightly upset with the foul language and the notion of sleeping around.
fun book---great for those girls who are in denial, or who are one of the guys
This book will save hours of anxiety and thousands in therapy. It was a funny romp to listen to over housework. I found myself talking back to it saying "I hear ya." "Been there." "Oh, I'm so not doing that again." Every girl needs to hear this book at least once.
I found this book really freeing. It's really helping me let go of relationships that have nagged at me for years. Should I have done something different or not? Would it have made a difference? This tells you to move on!
Loved this book! I laughed from beginning to end. So many of the situations encapsulated my exboyfriend to a tee. Very glad I dumped him! Looking foward to meeting more men with Greg's point of view!!
