The Hidden City of Unwanted Heroes: An Urban Fantasy Superpower Adventure

Beneath Portland, more than a hundred people altered by the Infection have built a hidden city where the outside world cannot easily reach them.

Seventeen-year-old Pam-Pam helps keep the community alive by using her touch-based stunning power to rob dangerous men. She is abrasive, resourceful, and fiercely protective of the strange family that has given her a home.

The Underground shelters people whose abilities make them valuable to governments, criminals, and anyone willing to ignore consent. Gift can grant temporary wishes powerful enough to change a battlefield. Dan must carry out nearly any request spoken to him. C C creates gemstones but cannot lie. Nero controls darkness. King Rat senses approaching danger. Complex bends space itself to contain their sanctuary.

Then a warning arrives: police pressure is only the beginning. A military force is preparing to move against the Underground.

Running may save some of them. Fighting could bring an even deadlier response. Their best chance may require trusting agents from the same superpowered organization they believe has been hunting them.

As competing plans, old trauma, and dangerous abilities collide, Pam-Pam must decide what kind of leader she is willing to become—and whether people who have survived by hiding can risk stepping into the world as something more than victims.

Fast, character-driven, and filled with unconventional powers, The Hidden City of Unwanted Heroes is an adult urban-fantasy adventure about found family, government persecution, bodily autonomy, moral compromise, and unwanted heroes fighting for the right to exist.
