His Brother’s Keeper by W. C. Tuttle is a gripping Western short story of law, loyalty, family, and frontier justice. Sheriff “Duty” Deming has devoted his life to enforcing the law without mercy, even when it costs him those closest to him. But when illness and fate leave him stranded in the desert with an accused killer, Deming is forced into a final confrontation with the code he has worshiped above everything else. A tragic and ironic tale from the classic era of Western fiction.
