Summary
Making it to the Major Leagues is all rookie ballplayer Rob Lee has ever dreamed of. But now, he's a little overwhelmed with his new celebrity status. Everyone wants a piece of the new heavy hitter for the Indianapolis Bobcats. Still, he's worked hard for it, and he doesn't have many regrets. Although there is one . . .

If journalist Heidi Wong wants to keep her job, she needs to come up with a story—fast! That's why she tells her boss that she knows the Bobcat's reclusive new slugger, Rob Lee. And she does . . . in the Biblical sense. During Spring Break three years ago, she and Rob shared a torrid night on the beach. And she's wanted him again ever since.

But everyone knows reporters and athletes don't mix. Rob's contract doesn't allow him to talk to the press, and her job depends on it. Which is driving them both just a little crazy . . .

Contains mature themes.

Share Hitting It is a lighthearted romance featuring a baseball player and an aspiring journalist. The story in this installment of the Locker Room Diaries is suitable for fans of sports romance. he story didn’t hit in the way I expected, but it was still an ok read. Heidi and Rob had a lot of growing up to do. When they first met, they weren’t ready for the demands of a relationship. They were both focused on achieving their career goals, but that didn’t stop them from thinking about each other. Their reunion gives them the opportunity to pursue a relationship. One would have thought it would be easy, seeing that their chemistry never fizzled out despite the years and distance. (Yeah!)! They hooked up again shortly after the reunion. However, they encountered obstacles, the main one being themselves. The back-and-forth was tiring at times. The romance was underwhelming. Yes, they had chemistry, but the author failed to build on it to the detriment of the romance. There were passionate scenes, which were based more on lust than on love; as such, they lacked authenticity. Then there was the manipulation dished out to Rob by the management and associates of his team. They took complete control of his life. Dictating who he can date and not speaking to the media. Cindy Kay and Tor Thom provided the narration for the audiobook. This is my first time listening to both narrators. I enjoyed their collaboration, and they enhanced the reading experience. Both narrators did a good job in capturing the emotions of the characters.
