Unabridged Audiobook
I have read and thoroughly enjoyed Philip Miller's two other crime novels that have the character Shona Sanderson as the investigative journalist. I had looked forward to listening to this one. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. Like the other two books, his central character is socially awkward, spikey like a hedgehog, clever, and really funny. The warmth is still there in this novel as in the other two. What is missing is an interesting and REAL plot. It is appropriate that "The Hollow Tree" is as hollow as the plot of this novel. It is elementary, unreal, and boring. Again, a thorough disappointment. The narrator is the same as the narrator on the other two novels in this series, and he is great, especially if one likes a light, Scottish accent.
