This is an interesting book and I actually enjoyed it. But I found myself irritated at the thought that the main character, Liyana, makes poor choices and has bad judgment. Every time this girl gets her life together she messes up. She picks a bad school and blames her parents divorce. She gets pregnant and instead of learning from that mistake she manages to get pregnant and destroy her life and livelihood not one time, not twice but THREE times! She loses her job and home and almost destroys her marriage. Does she not know what birth control is? It seems she doesn’t think about the consequences of her actions and choices, which is rather unbelievable and irritating. It’s hard to believe that someone who is articulate and educated could be this clueless.
