Unabridged Audiobook
My dumb butt did not realize it is a part one of two. So be careful because you are paying for half a book. Some of the noise was a little distracting and didn’t always match the feel in my opinion but it could just be my preference too. I still enjoyed it a lot! I was just disappointed it was half the book.
Loved it
Do yourself a favor! If you have never listened to graphic audio before, listen to the sample before purchasing. I tried over and over again, but just could not tolerate the ins and outs of the different voices and the background noise. Wish I had not spent the money.Really only purchased it because it was the only version of this book available. Never again!
This was a great read. Can't wait to listen to the next book!
Good
Awesome. Amazing. Best way to listen to an audiobook in my opinion
This saga is worth reading
lots and lots of world building. it was great, but I struggled coming straight from ACOTAR.
I really like this book - it is only half of the first volume, but I liked it well enough to purchase a six-month subscription so I can follow through with all the audiobooks. The narration, using different actors, is very good.
Loved every minute’s of it . The background noises were so precise and the mmc and c s voice . The buildup for slow burn … loved it . Gobbled it in two days ignoring all my responsibilities..
This is nothing like the other books by Sarah Maas. I was quite disappointed. I had a hard time picturing her animal people and their office/social lives. So much so that I did not finish the book. I very much enjoyed her the previous six books of Reese and Phara... i really liked the last one of this series with Nessa's story... and the narration with actual actors.
worst audiobook I've listened to. I'm sure the storyline is good, but the narrators sound like AI. No emotion behind the voices, and it almost sounds sped up , as if they don't take a breath or end a sentence. Like someone else said, I would listen to a sample first before spending the money on this.
Loved
I absolutely loved the ACOTAR series graphic audio and was excited to dive into this one. Unfortunately, I didn’t even make it through the first 30 minutes. I really wish I hadn’t used a credit on it. The voice choices for some characters felt way off—Bryce, for example, sounded surprisingly masculine, which made it difficult to follow who was speaking without my physical book for reference. On top of that, the background effects and noise were more distracting than immersive. Overall, it just didn’t work for me, which was a big disappointment after how much I enjoyed their ACOTAR production.
Made me laugh, cry, be angry, yell at my iPhone. Try it! You will be so pleasantly surprised.
One of my favorite series
I dare say that crescent city is better than ACOTAR. Loved Maas already, but this series is beyond. and the graphic audio books are worth the extra cost.
Very slow and just over all disappointing. Loved all the Court of thorns and Roses books so expected more from her new book. Also hate the graphic audio narrators. It was just ok. Don’t think I’ll pay for the second half.
I really love the author I really enjoy her books
The full cast audiobook is an interesting way to listen. My first of this type. Despite that I am struggling to get into the story. It’s definitely a slow burn type romance because. In some ways it reminds me of 1984 with the video recordings of everyone and the hidden cameras always watching.
Narrator is very AI and robotic. I really enjoyed reading this book, was excited to listen to it dramatized but the narrator is simply atrocious and kills any enjoyment.
As a first time read, I didn’t enjoy the narration or background noise/music, but I could see enjoying it more on a re-read. I listened to the rest on Audible without the acting and enjoyed it soooo much. I will re-listen for a reread and update my review then.
I looove readings by graphic audio…unfortunately I feel they are wasted on this series. I really enjoyed the ACOTAR series, but she really lost me on this one.
I absolutely loved this book
powerful story!
Fantastic story, and by the quarter way point, I was completely hooked! The plot is engaging, with well-developed characters and plenty of twists to keep you listening eagerly. I was so invested, I didn’t realize it was only the first half of the full story! The sound effects in the audiobook didn’t always seem to fit the scenes IMO, and there was a bit more language than I expected, it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment. Looking forward to the second book.
Enthralling in the slowest way. I can’t wait to hear more!
Not for me. The sounds are distracting and too many f*** words. Wish I could return it and get my credit back
Can't wait to listen to the next book! <3
It was hard to follow at times. The background noise was a distraction rather than adding to the story. Bryce should have been so much better.
