Meanwhile, in a rural village in India, young Mala, trapped in an oppressive marriage, dreams of escape.

When Shyama and Mala meet, they help each other realise their dreams. But will fate guarantee them both happiness?...

Wow - what a delightful book this is. I know I will listen more than once! Fast paced with believable well rounded characters, this book pulls you between Delhi, rural India and England as we follow a family through surrogacy, a grueling court case, the troubles of a young woman trying to find her way. I loved every moment and learned so much about surrogacy and life in India. Totally real and believable. The work is well written and really engaging. The authors brilliant narration is a bonus. A great read.
