fairly dull, I didn't care about any of the characters. I stuck with it until the end wish I hadn't bothered.

I found myself in a strange reading slump. It was tough to discover something engaging to read or listen to.This is my first book by Freida McFadden. The story is quick-moving, filled with suspense, and loaded with shocking twists that took me by surprise. I couldn't put it down, and I'm eager for more!

There was repeated information and I found that tedious

So I saw the movie first. The movie was ok at the beginning. A lot of sex scenes. But not too bad. Then in the middle of it picked up. There were a few not really realistic, and some of that didn’t make real sense but he’s a good movie. I know there was a book. It should be way better, but I was sadly mistake. The lead you to a part that you are ready for there to be a climax and there wasn’t . And it wasn’t just once it was throughout the book and the ending was very unrealistic not too happy

Easy listen, good twists!

This book scared me.

Could not stop listening to….. loved it!

Like a reeeeeally long Lifetime movie. Because I didn’t want to leave the book unfinished, having paid for the thing, I listened to the last third at double speed just to get it over with. Tiny inconsistencies (not quite holes) in the characters and story. Not a lot of character depth at all. By the end I had no concern whatsoever for the outcome of a single character. I’m truly surprised at the positive reviews.

I was a little disappointed at first. Bipolar woman is a nightmare. And the twist in the story was so unexpected, I got excited to listen from that point on. Overall it is impressive how many unexpected turns Freida McFadden will take you through and eventually leave you with your own fantasy to carry on. Great listen. Narrator is absolutely great!

It's a bit of a slow burn until the last couple of chapters and then, it is totally worth it! The narrator is excellent. I listened to it on a faster speed because the reading pace was a bit slow for me.

I enjoyed this listen, even though I did find the major twists quite predictable from early on in the book. This, plus just common sense, did make some of the main characters’ decisions so frustrating at times! That being said, I was still fairly hooked by the plot and wanted to finish it quickly to find out what happened!

The work is So good!!

I normally ready military or historical books, but I thought I would give The Housemaid a try and it was one of the best books I have ever read. A thriller from start to finish. This is truly a book that was really hard to put down. I highly recommend this book to anyone!!

Don’t waste your time. Totally implausible ending, a “twist” that you could see a mile ahead. Just stupid.

This book was so good! I loved the narrator

This book took a long time to get to a fairly obvious turning point. The story moved along much better after that, so the second half brought my rating up. The narrator did a great job with the characters. There was one mispronunciation that was a but off-putting, but overall very good. There were plenty of twists towards the end, although again fairly easily predicted. Not my favorite.

I enjoyed the book. Not my typical genre but thought I'd give it a try. It held my interest and I looked forward to hearing what came next. At times it was hard to associate the voice with certain characters. I would recommend

A great listen. I’d recommend it for fans of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, for a similar atmosphere of suburban malaise and calculating female rage. The narration is excellent, one of the best audio adaptations I’ve heard. I’ll be looking for other titles read by Lauryn Allman.

This was such a satisfying read from start to finish! Just when I thought I knew where the storyline was going..nope! Shocker twist plot! Love it!

Book was better than movie

Very mundane, you know what is going to happen. There are so many really good books out there, go get one but leave this junk alone.

I started to listen to this book during a medical conference and I could not stop listening!!!!! The author did an amazing job. I love books with unexpected endings just the right amount of twist and turns. Cadence of the narrator was perfect. Her voice was soothing but kept me at the edge of my seat…. I did not want this book to end and honestly I felt like the ending was the perfect beginning for another book…. I usually do not even listen to fiction only health or self help so this book was a delightful departure

Pretty good book until the author completely phoned it in for the ending. I don't want to ruin the ending for anyone so all I will say is COME ON and you can imagine my eye roll. It was ridiculous. I am actually quite surprised so many people liked this. I am also surprised at the ending with the education level of the author. I am guessing her book publisher or deadline pushed her to this??? I probably will not read/listen to another by this author.

Narrator did a great job switching between the main characters voices. Made reading and following along very easy. Recommend putting in 1.5x speed

Fun book - great plot twist, I felt the characters stress. I liked the narrator but wish she didn’t read one character with a Brooklyn accent. I don’t think that was necessary - and it distracted me. But I did appreciate using different voices for the different characters.

Very good plot- may be a little predictable at times, but still very good! There are a few curve balls in the plot that I did not see coming.

I was intrigued in the story and where it would go but the writing is not the best. The narrator annoyed me to be honest but wasn’t unbearable.

Everything I think I have figured out a book by Frieda McFadden, I am proven wrong. This book was amazing and will keep you entertained.

I love love love EVERYTHING about this book!!!!! This was a good quick read because I couldn't stop listening!!!! I can't wait to go the movie with my friend so we can see the book brought to life on the big screen! I have a feeling that this is a series that I can complete!

At first, I almost stopped listening to this book as I was not a fan of the writing but I remembered the reviews and gave it a chance. Then half way through it got interesting and I loved the twists and was hooked! I am now very excited to see the movie. Was a fun listen!
