Unabridged Audiobook
Beautifully narrated story of the complexities of being an immigrant in America during the Obama administration. Given the negativity today toward immigrants this book is a must read. Any doubts immigrants want to work, want to ge good citizens and are basically decent people are dispelled. I loved this book.
I think this book is exceptional. It touches upon inequality, generational gaps and our collective grievances. The book was masterfully written to highlight out humanity in such a deep and wonderful way.. It was an honor to read and understand the undertones, the depthness of each sentence and the complexity of the character Cara Romero. Angie Cruz is a genius. The narrator was INCREDIBLE. I was hooked and felt like I was listening to my neighbor.
loved it! I liked how the main character learns a lot about her mistakes with her family through her discussions with her job coach
I enjoyed the narrator, and thought the way in which the story was told was clever. I struggled to stay engaged in the novel, so that's why I gave it a lower rating.
Good story .. great character
I stopped and started listening several times, the story just didn't capture my interest until about 1/4 of the way through. After that I wanted to keep going just to find out what would happen next! Narrator was stellar.
Omg! Angie has done it again! Amazing! I LOVED listening to Rosemary narrating this book! I felt like Cara could be my mom, Tia, cousin any one of the women in my family. I LOL, lmao and cried all the emotions possible I felt listening to this book. THANK YOU!
