No institution has done more to shape Western civilization than the two-thousand-year-old Catholic Church and in ways that many of us have forgotten or never known. This book by best-selling author and professor Thomas E. Woods is essential reading for recovering this lost truth.

Just bought this book and find it engrossing. It gives me a whole new thinking about the Catholic Church.

Man, this has really given me a better perspective and understanding of my Catholic roots. I've left the religion and kind of became a spiritual/non-denominational Christian. However, I never forgot what I've experienced growing up in the Catholic educational environment. Now that I'm enrolled in a Jesuit university, I've learned more about St. Ignatius. I've recently been questioning of whether I made a mistake leaving the Catholic religion or not. This book made me feel alot better about what's been going on, and it is really an honest book. It does acknowledge the backsliding and downfalls of the Catholic Church, but it also revives its meaning and more importantly, how it "built Western Civilization." Excellent book. I have alot of respect for the author and narrator. The author must have went through so much to get all the information that is included in here.
