Summary
Whether meeting a new client or bumping into a potential mate, you only have a few seconds to make a favorable impression. Is that really possible? Author Nicholas Boothman, a lecturer and licensed master practitioner of neurolinguistic programming, believes yes! He introduces a revolutionary approach to face-to-face communication that will help anyone succeed at making meaningful, and immediate, connections. Easily learned, it will help you make the best of any relationship's most important moment -- those first 90 seconds. Learn the power of a Really Useful Attitude, the secrets of voice tone and body language, the difference between "opening up" words and "closing down" words. And reinforcing all of these skills is knowing how to read another person's sensory preference -- most of us are Visual people, some are Kinesthetic and a few are Auditory. So when you say, "I see what you mean" to a Visual, you're really speaking his or her language. And then you're on your way!

An interesting book with a lot of valuable information, most of which is extremely simple in theory and wonderfully effective in practice. The author explains in easy to understand terms how to create rapport with just about anybody in no time at all. If you're in sales, be it direct or retail, this book will certainly serve you well.

Like many self-help books, this text spent way too much time convincing me that it had a valid, useful point. I understand why it's important to establish rapport - that's why I brought home your book - don't spend the first third telling about that basic fact. When the author got to the examples, exercises and techniques it was great. I just wish he'd gotten there sooner.

The narrator was fine the book is short but it would be shorter. So many unnecessary things in it.

I expected the typical self-help feel-good stuff: Make eye contact, smile, be positive, etc., and people will like you. This CD goes much deeper into how people make connections and establish rapport, based on proven physiological and psychological principles. I've practiced some of the techniques Boothman describes, and I'm amazed at how well they work in real life. I described them to my husband and now he's also using them to good effect in his business. I highly recommend this if you're in a people-oriented job or business (and aren't we all?).
