Unabridged Audiobook
I am a fan of horror, but most books critique and condemning it. This book fetishized it. I stopped reading after the first hour or so and looked up spoilers. This book is written as a thought the author is getting off on violence and torture and tape inflicted on the characters- most horrendously a little boy who is repeatedly raped, and then sawed in half alive. I think the shorter crossed a line from free speech into pornography to the extent of which is glorify the violence it commits and violates decency and creative expression laws.
It was still good, but nothing like the first. This book felt rushed, it lacked the psych details, and really relied on gore. I was so bothered that I had to skip whole sections.
