Unabridged Audiobook

Written By: Shane Dawson

Narrated By: Shane Dawson

Publisher: Simon & Schuster

Date: March 2015

Duration: 4 hours 8 minutes

Summary:

Tentatively titled Awkward Moments with Shane Dawson, YouTube sensation Shane Dawson's first book is a collection of personal essays, highlighting key moments of his adolescence, through his phenomenal success on YouTube (in which he's parodied the celebrity world), and continuing on to his more recent experiences as an actor and director of a feature film (in which he's become the celebrity). The collection will feature the hilarity and satire Shane's fans already enjoy. However, in this book, they will get to see the real Shane behind Shananay through personal stories that are at once humorous and heartwarming, self-deprecating and, ultimately, inspiring to his young audience.

The collection will feature an introduction, approximately 20 original essays and two or three "Top Ten lists" or some other short sidebar pieces.

Topics include: his childhood obesity, his extraordinarily close relationship with his mom, his various platonic relationships with girls since age 5, how YouTube got him fired from his job at a national weight loss center.

I have always loved Shane, but this book made me respect him more for sure. Now he isn't just a funny/cute YouTube star to me, he's a human that understands us. Haha. I don't know how to explain it, but hearing this made me feel like you REALLY get to know Shane and understand his humor a bit more. Loved it, hopefully he narrates his second book too!

I have watched Shane dawson on YouTube for at least 7 years now. I'm 19 so that's a lot of my life. He's inspired me, I know... that can only mean I'm one fucked up person, thanks Shane! Anyway, I hope one day I can accomplish what he has. Maybe we will even be friends... jeesh those would be some dirty videos. Time to talk about the book though. It's exactly what you would expect from Shane Dawson, a kind of disturbing yet hilarious story about his life. He talks about balls a lot, puts in a lot of self-hating comments, and makes tons of gay jokes. What else did you expect? Even if you only know him from his movie Not Cool you should be able to piece together how this book will go. But listen to it, trust me. It's amazing and it's narrated by Shane himself. That completed the experience for me.
