Unabridged Audiobook
This was a difficult read because it was filled with ignorance, brutality and negative characters. However the few good, kind characters more than made up for the cruelty. It opened my mind to the mental processes of the degenerate characters that the South is so famous for, but also made me aware of the power of the few who are caring and supportive of one another. The very last sentence rewards the reader for suffering through all the evil and cruelty with a kind of come-uppence, but it's tinged with a twinge of sadness. The narration was absolutely brilliant, captivating the essence of each character.
