This is so far my favorite of the Highlander Series. While I loved the stories about the McKeltars I found Adam Black much more fascinating. I was happy to read a whole novel about him. Phil Gigante is a great reader who gets all the characters, male and female, just right. Since the historic discrepancies bothered me in the other Highlander novels (coffee in 16th century Scotland, not true), I liked that it all played in the present, therefore the lack of historical research was not so annoying.

I've read this book in paper back almost three times. This is the first time I've listened to someone else read it to me and let me tell you, the narrator is amazing! He does the accents, changes his voices, and he plays Gabby so well. Phil Gigante, I will forever love your work.
