Unabridged Audiobook
Good concept laborious detail glad it was free No common sense
I was genuinely excited to start this book. A thriller set in the Cayman Islands with a scuba‑diving backdrop felt like it was written for me — I lived there for years and diving was a huge part of my life. But after reading the first quarter, I had to give up. The characters never felt grounded, and the dialogue made me cringe repeatedly. Conversations were unbelievable, and the decisions characters made were completely out of step with who they were supposed to be. The writing style felt inexperienced, and lacking any real depth or lived‑in perspective. Young adults might enjoy it, but for me, the only pleasure I got was recognising familiar places in Grand Cayman. Beyond that nostalgia, my enjoyment didn’t go far.
Interesting. Good enough I would read more from this author.
