Brinna has always been described as the dreamer in her family. Until the night her family gathers to finally learn the truth about their mother, this quality never mattered. Except, somewhere between secrets and revelations, Brinna, along with her family, slips into sleep. She awakens in a strange half‑world where reality blurs, nightmares breathe, and everyone is trapped in an enchanted sleep.

When Brinna discovers she has the ability to move through the dreams of those she loves, she searches desperately for a way to break the spell. But the dream‑realm twists around her, blurring the line between dream and reality, shifting with her fears, and no matter how hard she tries, she can’t find a way back to the waking world.

Until Lucian Uraiahs—god of day and light—walks into her dream.

Lucian has spent centuries avoiding the one mortal who unsettles him most: Brinna Fareview. She is a complication he never wanted, a spark he refuses to acknowledge, and a reminder of everything he’s tried to run from. But when he is stripped of his powers and imprisoned in the mortal realm, sleep becomes his only escape, and Brinna awaits on the other side.
In dreams, their connection is undeniable but they discover they want more than dreams. They want to be in the waking world together.

As the boundary between dream and reality begins to fracture, Brinna and Lucian must work together to uncover the truth behind not only the curse but how to break it. And they are running out of time. It becomes clear that if they fail, Brinna and her family will remain trapped in their nightmares and those they love will die.

In the Shadow of a Dream continues the sweeping romantasy saga and reimagined fairy tales of the Fareview sisters—four women bound by magic, shaped by desire, and destined for love powerful enough to challenge the very fabric of reality.
