She was the first and only female Prime Minister of India, having provided the longest service to the nation. At a time when women did not have any prominent status in the society, Indira Gandhi reached the very top of the sphere of Indian politics. Her bold spirit, power, and strength in leading the country in its dips and high times makes her worthy of being called the Iron Lady of India.
