Summary
The latest installment in the highly acclaimed, internationally bestselling Strike series finds Cormoran and Robin ensnared in another winding, wicked case.

When frantic, disheveled Edie Ledwell appears in the office begging to speak to her, private detective Robin Ellacott doesn’t know quite what to make of the situation. The cocreator of a popular cartoon, The Ink Black Heart, Edie is being persecuted by a mysterious online figure who goes by the pseudonym of Anomie. Edie is desperate to uncover Anomie’s true identity.

Robin decides that the agency can’t help with this—and thinks nothing more of it until a few days later, when she reads the shocking news that Edie has been tasered and then murdered in Highgate Cemetery, the location of The Ink Black Heart.

Robin and her business partner, Cormoran Strike, become drawn into the quest to uncover Anomie’s true identity. But with a complex web of online aliases, business interests and family conflicts to navigate, Strike and Robin find themselves embroiled in a case that stretches their powers of deduction to the limits – and which threatens them in new and horrifying ways . . .

A gripping, fiendishly clever mystery, The Ink Black Heart is a true tour-de-force.

I loved the story, my only complaint was listening to all the Twitter posts, I think reading those work better than listening to someone read them out loud. But I got use to it after a while. Still loved the book

This is the worst of the books! I read these books for the mystery and intensity with characters Robin and Strike. I had to skip so much of this book where texts are being read for pages and pages. There is zero pieces on the business, and characters. They don’t even own this case or champion the person murdered. I hope the next book goes back to the amazing writing in the original books. Ugh

Honestly this was one of the worst for me. It was the back n forth messaging that took away from the story. I like the series but this one just made it difficult for me to swallow. I’m currently listening to the next book and is waaay better.

I loved the story minus the reading of the twitter posts.

Listening to this book is tedious because of the frequent online conversations requiring the narrator to read the long online names (blahblabla at blahblah dot com) multiple times. The book is good, the narrator is great, but the text is not suited to audiobook format unless there is a way to allow the narrator to abbreviate the online names. I wanted to know what happened, but it was like pulling teeth to listen.

All the books in this series are excellent, thanks to the fantastic writing skills of Robert Galbraith aka JK Rowling. Although I was not familiar with the online world of Twitter and hashtags I could not stop listening. Robert Glenister is such a great narrator too. Thoroughly enjoyed this and all the previous Cormoran Strike books!
