Inspector Savage and Sergeant Eaves are brought in on a case in Muggers, where the theft involved the use of a knife. Before long it becomes apparent that two youths are the most likely suspects. Then some muggings occur, and Inspector Savage knows that unless they act quickly they will have a violent and possibly fatal crime on their hands. Allan Prior was a prolific scriptwriter and novelist. He was the creator of influential police drama Z-Cars and also wrote several episodes of the 1970s science-fiction series Blake's 7. He co-created the BBC drama series Howards' Way and won several awards for his work including the Crime Writers' Association Award, Writers Guild of Great Britain Award, Grand Prix de Littérature Policière and a BAFTA.
