For almost forty years, Richard Tiller has been using his background in cultural anthropology and sales management to bring unique, people-forward strategies to the business world through his books and coaching service. In this, his tenth title published on the subject, Tiller consolidates a lifetime’s worth of experience to offer business leaders his most important lesson yet: How to inspire a culture of confidence in your workplace.
Vague as it may sound to some, Tiller argues that the long-term success of any team depends on how confident its members are—not only in their own roles but also in the capabilities of their coworkers, in the goal itself, and of course, in their managers. Establishing a culture of confidence, Tiller states, is any leader’s most vital strategic priority if they wish to build a successful team.
To demonstrate why and how this is true, this book describes the eleven qualities that mark a culture of confidence: Belief, Energy, Dignity, Trust, Connection, High Standards, Encouragement, Accountability, Self-Sufficiency, Perspective, and Mental Toughness. Each quality is given its own chapter to fully explore what it means, how you can inspire that quality in your team members, how each quality supports and is supported by the others, and what improvements to performance, fulfillment, and loyalty you can expect to see when your culture of confidence begins to flourish.
