Unabridged Audiobook
I thoroughly enjoyed this sci-fi military story.. It is written old school style where there is simply pure intents and storylines. None of the more modern "color" like random death of main characters or stabs in the back. The book never slows in its action. It is straight to the point and contains no annoying 'drama'. I found myself cheering and proud of being of the human race. The narrator is very passionate in his expression. the only big thing against the book was the lack of notification between perspectives. One sentence would be finishing up a thought when the new section would start, and it would take a second or two to realize the subject matter change without even a pause to indicate it. I believe that is the editing/producing rather than the narrator, but it's definitely noticable.
This is a pendant to the Frontiers Sagas by Ryk Brown - both storylines about a "novice" captain and his crew on a starship, suddenly finding themselves in the middel of a interstellar war. Straight to the point with characters, plot and narration. I like it!
