Summary
Three years ago, Lexie destroyed their friendship group with a single, unforgivable act. Now she’s bringing them all back together. And someone’s going to pay…

On a cold October night, a group of old college friends arrive at a fog-shrouded lakehouse, summoned by a curious email that reads more like a threat than an invitation. From the woman no one has spoken to for three years.

There’s the cynical best friend, the anguished fiancé, the careless player, the lost follower, the quiet survivor. Each with a secret they’d kill to protect.

But as soon as they gather, old resentments start to bubble up, and tensions are running high by the time the friends finally stumble to bed.

And the next morning, there is a body floating in the dark water…

A dark, deadly story that will consume you until the final perfect twist. Fans of Lucy Foley, Ruth Ware and Alice Feeney will be hooked.

Overall this was very good book. The writing and perspectives were done well. The ending was a little less than satisfying, but left room for a sequel

Kept me guessing the entire book. Definitely had some twists I didn’t see coming. Wandering if there will be a sequel.

Book was good. It did leave an open ended finish, but in a good way.

I liked the plot but the characters and the way they were portrayed was too stereotypical. it kinda took away from the plot. maybe if I had read this instead of just listening, would have helped me get into the story a little more. overall I did enjoy the plot but wished there was more authenticity to the characters and their personalities.

It was a fine, slightly slow moving thriller. Lots of character background with an attempt to be thrilling at the end but overall was an ok listen for me.

tbh, it was a bit boring but still bearable. it was hard to understand on many parts due to wierd pauses. dont know if it is how it is written or the narrators.

I found it kind of predictable but I also listen to too much mystery and true crime

Profile Avatar Anonymous May 2026

Liked it definitely a crazy title to read but will have you on the edge for sure.

Loved it! I tend to get bored easily, but this story kept my attention the entire time!

It was a really good book. The author does a good job of creating suspicion on different people. Narrator was good. There was no difficulty identifying the different characters by voice. The recording jumped ahead so I knew who the killer was a little halfway through the book. That was disappointing to me, but then I was listening and noticing the nuances for that person as the book progressed.
