Ivanhoe

'Ivanhoe' is a historical novel by the Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott, first published in 1820. Set in the 12th-century England during the reign of Richard the Lionheart, the narrative follows the adventures of its titular character, Wilfred of Ivanhoe, a nobleman disowned by his father for his allegiance to the king. Themes of chivalry, romance, and conflict between the Saxons and Normans pervade the novel.
