Unabridged Audiobook
Delightful tale of post convict Hobart. It is mainly centred on the local industry of jam making, and fleshing out some details of Hobart’s most famous jam maker but gives a beautiful depiction of the difficult lives being lived and the impact of world events on this little colonial town. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to a well paced narrator reading a clever and intriguing story
I enjoyed it due to its setting. Knowing the places mentioned in Tasmania kept me interested.
Beautifully written story with great characters and such an insight into Tasmania in the late 1800s/early 1900s, bringing to life a fascinating era. Audio narration perfectly suited the novel.
