Unabridged Audiobook
EXCELLENT. Even after listening for 24 hours, I did not want this book to end. I thought I knew a fair amount about John Lewis, but he was an even MORE INCREDIBLE man than I thought. He literally devoted his entire life working toward a more equitable society for ALL races. His adherence to Gandhi’s principles of of using non-violence as a weapon against oppression was a lifelong commitment despite being almost beaten to death crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge, which he returned to annually on Bloody Sunday for over 50 years. The book is totally engaging from cover to cover and demonstrates in depth how Lewis lived by Gandhi’s principle, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” Exceptional man and book. Lewis will be sorely missed in the upcoming four years. He bowed to no one in his fight for equality and voting rights.
