Unabridged Audiobook
The narrator was perfect. The book however, was devastating. Very sad.
Enjoyable story telling, simply chronicaling the experiences of it's lead protagonist from birth to womanhood shines an unflinching spotlight on the continual undercurrent of societal sexism woman face but rarely have acknowledged. At first I was disappointed that this had a male narrator, but now I believe that made it all the more powerful. This is not just a book for woman. It should be compulsory high school reading in every country. I loved it.
Following the life of a Korean woman from childhood to motherhood, the book exposes Korean patriarchal mindsets and societal customs resulting in gender inequality. Loved the story and narration.
