Summary
We don't get a lot of NBA superstars coming through little ol' Pine Hill, Texas. That's why everyone is all in a tizzy over the fact that the USA men's Olympic basketball team will be training here of all places before this year's Summer Games. Rumors about the players have been spreading like wildfire, and there's one man in the middle of it all holding a match.

Ben Castillo. NBA champion. Olympic gold medalist. Widely hailed '
'King of the Court.'

The morning he walks into my dingy diner, I have enough sense to keep my head down and go right on wiping tables, pouring coffee, and serving up short stacks. A man who looks like that-superstar or not-has only ever meant trouble, and more trouble is the last thing I need.

If anything, he seems drawn to my indifference. His steely gaze pierces me behind the counter. My knees nearly buckle under the weight of his attention. But while Mr. Pretty Boy is probably used to snagging city girls with a smile, this gal is country strong.

I won't be some cliched convenience for him on his way through town.
So look over your choices carefully, Benny-boy. We serve up sides of hash browns here, not heartbreak.

Contains mature themes.

This is definitely one of my favorite R.S. Grey's books. Ben and Birdie are so perfect together! It is a great slow burn sports romance, and second chance to love. The storyline is beautifully written, sweet, engaging, and heartwarming. The secondary characters are great. Aiden Snow and Desiree Ketchum are both on my list of favorite narrators. They did an outstanding job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. I will listen to this audiobook again

I really enjoyed this book. I read a lot of sports romance and hadn’t realized until starting this one that I rarely ever read about basketball players. I did enjoy this book on audio. The story was great. It was not your typical Cinderella storyline that I see a lot with sports romance, and that was much appreciated. There is definitely a lot to unpack as this story moves along. Our hero, Ben Castillo, has some baggage in the form of a soon-to-be ex-wife and as a result, we get a bit of a grumpy/sunshine feel. Raelynn is such a pure heart. I loved that she is super smart and the fact that she had to give up her college studies to take care of her grandma gave an authentic feel to her monetary issues and really jives with the fact that she is super proud and independent. The twists this story takes are great and I loved the time jump as it allowed for the character growth of our heroine to occur outside of the relationship which is different than the normal sports-star-rescues-the-damsel-in-distress we typically get which starts to feel a little predictable at times. This was such a cute romance and was really enjoyable as an audiobook!! I will be looking out for more from this author in the future.

I liked this story as much as I didn’t like it and I know that sounds ridiculous, but it is what it is. There are plot points in this story that I’m still trying to figure out why they were part of the story and there were too many cliché small-town shenanigans that made my eyes roll. Honestly, if you don’t enjoy a huge amount of suspended reality in your fiction, this might not be a story for you. I thought about bullet-pointing some of my issues, but this story is over a year and a half old, so someone out there has already done that for me, I’m sure! LOL • I have to give a huge thanks to Valentine PR for the opportunity to listen to this audio because had I been reading the story; I might not have finished and that never bodes well for a review. Aiden Snow & Desiree Ketchum are not new-to-me narrators, so I knew that unless the production messed this up, I’d enjoy their narration of the story, and I did, very much so in fact. They brought the story to life for me so well that even when the above-mentioned twitchiness was happening, I didn’t care! • RS Grey is a new-to-me author with King of the Court and more often than not, with this kind of experience, I wouldn’t really be tripping over myself to experience another story by her, however, I’ve researched her a bit and its pretty clear to me that this might just be a one-off for her so I will continue with her stories as the opportunity arises and we’ll see what happens! Stay tuned :)

This basketball romance is the perfect listen for the weekend. Just enough romance and spice, a little angst and a whole lot of heart tugging scenes, RS Grey had my attention! Raelyn is trying to get by, taking care of her grandmother. When the Olympic basketball team comes to town though, life begins to change. Ben is a quiet man, not looking for a relationship, but there is something about the waitress that intrigues him. Will Raylen be able to keep the charms of this man at arm's length? Will 2 weeks be just enough to prevent feelings from sneaking in? Stories that are packed full of good friends, great advice, some life changing surprises and a heart full of love, Grey had me captivated and rooting for this couple! It's a fantastic story and one that will win your heart. Aiden Snow and Desiree Ketchum are our story tellers, and boy can these two tell a story! Snow easily falls into the broody Ben. He is vulnerable, yet willing to go the distance and Snow lets loose his yearning for her. Ketchum keeps Raelyn guarded. She is not going to let her heart be broken, yet with that crack of emotion that Ketchum gives, it's easy to know her feelings. A fabulous team to bring this fun story to life!

Loved this story! Raelynn moved home working two jobs to take care of her Nan. She meet a basketball player named Ben. What was just a summer fling turned into something more. Both Raelynn and Ben were blind and couldn’t see it. I liked how R.S. Grey brought these two characters together. Even after more than a year apart when they meet again the attraction was still there. Aiden Snow and Desiree Ketchum did an amazing job with the narration. They were able to bring out the emotions of their characters.
