Summary
The second heart stopping Grant County novel by #1 New York Times bestselling author, Karin Slaughter, featuring Sara Linton of the acclaimed Will Trent Series.

“Karin Slaughter is a fearless writer. She takes us to the deep, dark places other novelists don’t dare to go. Kisscut will cement her reputation as one of the boldest thriller writers working today.” — Tess Gerritsen

In this chilling follow-up to Blindsighted, Sara Linton, her ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, and detective Lena Adams are caught in an evil web involving a young girl who commits suicide by forcing a cop to shoot her. Shouldering the political aftermath, Jeffrey struggles to understand the victim’s desperation. So does Sara, the girl’s pediatrician and now her coroner, who soon discovers that the suicide was linked to a brutal crime—one far more terrifying than anyone could have imagined. Yet neither Jeffrey nor Sara know that their colleague, Lena, may unwittingly harbor the truth as she finds herself drawn to a young man who might hold the answers—and Lena’s future—in his hands.

This book in the series was a little slower in building and at times I wished it would move quicker but overall it was still a good book with an awesome narrator.

The preacher being the bad guy is old and tired.

Great and horrible all at the same time!

Subject was very dark . A little too much detail.

Although the book is well-written and narrated, the topic was too disturbing for my tastes.

I love Karen Slaughter books and have listened to many of them but this one will give me nightmares. It is horrific what some evil people can do to children and I hope they all rot in hell! As usual Kathleen Early broght the book to life.

This the second K. Slaughter book I’ve “read” and I’m hooked! The narrator is one of my favorites.

Good plot, wish it would have had a more decisive ending. Narrator was excellent.

WARNING: This book is about a child porn ring, child molestation, pedophilia, incest between mothers and their minor children, and female genital mutilation that ended with a minor child with her vagina sewn shut. It was disturbing to read and not in a good way. If there was any indication this is what the story was about I would've certainly chose a different book. There is so much backstory about the characters that takes up half the book but that is completely irrelevant to the plot. There is no climax, the most exciting part of the story was in the first few chapters. There is no conclusion and feels like the book was missing the last few chapters. There's no wrap-up of the plot or the characters and it wasn't left undone in an intriguing suspenseful way; it just simply ended and I honestly thought the app had screwed up at first. This author wrote Pretty Girls and it was one of my favorite books ever. I was excited and had such high hopes for this book. The story left me confused and bored. All the child porn, child molestation, genital mutilation, seen vagina, and child incest left me wanting a shower every time I listened. I'm a big fan of the crime, murder, and suspense style books. If you are too I can assure you this is not the book for you. Oh, the narrator did a good job though! She was great!
