Summary
Lady Molly of Scotland Yard is a collection of short stories about Molly Robertson-Kirk, an early fictional female detective. It was written by Baroness Orczy, who is best known as the creator of The Scarlet Pimpernel, but who also invented two immortal turn-of-the-century detectives in The Old Man in the Corner and Lady Molly of Scotland Yard. First published in 1910, Orczy’s female detective was the precursor of the lay sleuth who relies on brains rather than brawn. The book soon became very popular, with three editions appearing in the first year. As well as being one of the first novels to feature a female detective as the main character, Orczy’s outstandingly successful police officer preceded her real life female counterparts by a decade.(Introduction from wikipedia)

Lady Molly is the female Sherlock, and counterpart to Miss Fischer of Australia. I enjoyed her adventures.

entertaining and enjoyable narration. short stories, which move along at pace lovely way that it feels like a person you know telling you gossip almost, and I really like the way she constantly refers to of course you remember or you will know that over some not so relevant part of the tale

I loved the book. The stories were interesting and the character description very well done. The narrator's accent was neither here nor there which led me to believe it was fitting for the titled people of that era.

Immensely enjoyable for a ready driving companion, the purpose I'd intended this work to be. Not overly disturbing, it was quiet resolve and satisfaction that were the products I realised during, and after, each pause throughout.

It is a free book and I presume it is read by a volunteer. The quality of the narrator and the production is very good in comparison. It is a tad fast and it did take me a bit of time getting used to the narrator but I wasn't irritated by it. Also the sound quality is clear. The stories are fun, nothing too taxing, nothing exceptional but for me, an avid Agatha Christie fan, interesting enough.

I enjoyed these stories very much. Although the narrator’s accents were laughable when attempting Scottish or Yorkshire voices, she struck the right note generally and was easy to listen to in all other respects. Gentle, of their time stories but worth hearing.

I truly enjoyed this book. Miss Molly, in 1904, is a female Sherlock Holmes. She is very attentive to the human condition. The narrator was very enjoyable to listen to during the short stories.

Easy listening but I got a little bored after the first two stories. Still worth listening too although they did not get my rapt attention. The narrators were ok. I listened while I did other household tasks. Adequate enough if not a gripping stories.

This is the first negative review I have submitted. I thought the stories of individual crimes were simply not engaging. The stories were not notably clever or gripping. I was pleased to see a strong woman and references to misogyny of the time period. Even so not really worth a read unless you are a fan of early 20th Century literature.
